The position in the matter of my late Private Secretary, Dr. Eitel is somewhat clearer. He had been instructed to allow Members of Council, who officially applied for that purpose, to read my despatches explaining my conduct respecting the incident of the 27th of April, 1881, with respect to which there were incorrect stories in circulation.
